Home >> Spiritual Himalayan Trek - page 2

Week’s program:

Sunday:
We meet you at Amritsar air port, North India. From there we have a five-hour jeep drive to Dharamsala Chabad House {altitude: 1,800 meters}.

The Trek’s 1st day: Monday
Dharamkot to Triund (2,850 m).
The Dhauladhr ridge is the first Himalayan ridge rising up from the plains of India. It is green, steep mountain ridge with a few wild ancient trails crossing it. We will climb up to Triund, a beautiful grassy area with an amazing view.

2nd day: Tuesday
Triund to Lhase Cave (3,350 m).
From Triund we will climb through the forest to the “snow line,” after which the ground is covered with snow all winter and is actually an arctic desert. From the snow line, we will cross the rocky wild ground to Lhase Cave.

3rd day: Wednesday
Climb to Mt. Indrahaar (4,320 m).
The third day is a challenging climb to the top of the ridge, where the world opens up before our eyes and the scenery is unforgettable.

4th day: Thursday
From the “snow line” back to Dharamkot. On the last day of the trek, we will enjoy remarkable waterfalls and pure natural pools in a very remote area. By evening we will be back in the village and spend the night in the hotel.

Friday & Shabbat
Free half day for shopping and rest. Afternoon meditation class. An exhilarating Shabbat in the Chabad House

Sunday:
Leave Dharamsala for home, with the "heavy luggage" of an incredible experience and spiritual growth.

Some recommendations

Looking back, what is the Himalayan trek for you?

Tom, kibbutz in the Golan- "going to a 4 days trek with foreign English tourists, I didn't know what relationships I can have with them. After a short while I found out that a Jew is a Jew no matter where he comes from. The fundamental common denominator is that we all seek for the best with no compromise. Communicating with Jewish souls from the other side of the world mad me reveal my own Jewish soul which was lost in the other side of the ocean."

Leibel: Like those around me, it's all too easy for me to get caught-up in the day-to-day mayhem that we refer to as 'living in the real world'. I was hoping to leave the noise behind me in the UK and lose myself in the Himalayas; instead, I found myself on the mountains, and brought silence back with me!"

David The trip provided a pause in a frantic life, and made me stop and appreciate what real truth is and how important a place like Chabad House is.

Nadav, Hadera, Israel – the great merit to go trough {unconsciously } total fracture of the body limits, the fakedpride, money, self-respect, your level of love to your fellow Jew and who the…you think you are? Nothing stuffed with naught … and what you aren’t! and in a cheep price. But finely to see that truly the fire
of yearning and love to Hashem is dwelling within…
